Ex-ONWARD Guitarist Recruits Former INTO ETERNITY Vocalist
December 14, 2006Former ONWARD guitarist Toby Knapp is in the early recording stages of a new album which should be out around the summer of 2007. The CD will contain a lot of instrumental metal, but it will also feature a powerful progressive metal vocalist contributing on several tracks.
Commented Knapp: "I am pleased to announce I have recruited vocalist Dean Sternberg to work with me on my next project. Dean toured Europe and appeared at various ProgPower fests as vocalist for INTO ETERNITY! Dean also happens to be a gifted guitarist and composer at the helm of his own band WITHIN ANOTHER and even contributed some guest guitar work to the PURE SWEET HELL album 'The Voyeurs of Utter Destruction...' We plan to begin the composing and recording process in January 2007 and will take plenty of time to create the best album possible. The final product is tentatively scheduled for release this summer through Metalbolic Records."
Knapp recently announced plans to issue a collection of remixed/mastered demo tapes for what would have been ONWARD's last album, "The Neverending Sun". A January release is expected. The ONWARD CD and the debut album from Knapp's black metal project WAXEN are both being issued through Metalbolic Records. The WAXEN album, entitled "Fumaroth", consists of recordings that were completed for WAXEN's 2004 demo and includes the track "Splendid Impure Light", which can currently be sampled on Metalbolic's MySpace.com page.
Knapp last year issued an instrumental album, entitled "Polarizing Lines". He also recently contributed lead guitar work to the split CD featuring the one-man death metal band SEEKING OBSCURE and UNBURIED.
